Shree HC : being insolvent a statement of their affours is made to their Creditors when according to the report of the Official Assignee the total assets of the form are stated top amount to $2000, against $635.935 of debts and
liabilities.
Under this condition of their affairs in Finessrs Stree
Es C. F. Thiel and George Maclean uppear before the Bankruptcy Court at Hong Kong for examination and discharge._.
The whole of the parhaulars as above) related were known to Mr Chief Justice " Imale who presided and they would mor doubtless have had a wider publicity through the examination of the Bankrupts but Mr Whyte who represented the forms in Manchester rising for that or purpose he was informed by the Judge that if he examined either of them " as to

"the Bankrupts he would consider it

" to be a proof of those debts and an " election by him to proceed in " Bankruptcy and so to waive " right to stop in transite that was

" already claimed or to avriil themselves "of the benefit of any bien or
legal

Under these corcumstances a full disclosure. of the nefarious practices of the Bankrupts was at that time prevented;
His Lordship then in the course of his remarks and after expressing his satisfaction at the statement of the accounts added-
"that the books told the whole tale
" and as that was the first merit in " any bankruptcy, both bankrupts were
" entitled to that credit in this case) ____
